We get asked about sources regularly, and it is a fair question: the internet is full of Tarkov sites copying the same thing from one another. Here is how it works with us.

What we take and from where

Factual data — names, stats, requirements, rewards — is checked against open sources: the Russian and English Escape from Tarkov wikis and open APIs that serve game data. These are facts about the game: they do not belong to whoever published them first.

Walkthrough text we write ourselves. We do not reword someone else's in our own words; we compose it from the task objectives, from our own marker maps and from our own play. That is why our phrasing is shorter and drier than the big guides — but it is ours.

What we do not take

Other people's articles and guides. At all. Not even paraphrased. This is not only about manners: some sources release their material under a licence that forbids commercial use, and this site carries advertising and takes support. Lifting prose from there would break those terms.

So where we have no text of our own we honestly leave a gap or link to the original, rather than filling the hole with someone else's paragraph.

Why our data sometimes disagrees with the wiki

Because wikis are written by people too, and they are not always right. A few examples from our own practice:

When three sources disagree, that is almost always the signature of such bleed-through rather than three different truths.

What we do about errors

Find them and fix them. Over the past weeks we cleared out of our own database 83 duplicate tasks — and four more later, found not by name but by matching objectives — plus 68 unexpanded wiki templates in objective text, 80 objectives written in English inside a Russian field, and 65 image captions that had ended up in the rewards list by mistake.

It is dull work and it never finishes. But it is exactly what separates a database from a pile of links.

> If you have found an error, every page has a way to suggest a correction. We read them.

The legal part

This site is unofficial and not affiliated with Battlestate Games. Escape from Tarkov is their property; all in-game names and images belong to the rights holder. We do not sell in-game valuables, we do not offer boosting services and we do not link to cheats.
